How ADS Is Funded?
ADS is often asked, "How can
you afford to do what you do"?
The answer is that ADS is a non-profit
corporation with a 501 (c)(3) tax designation. We are not affiliated with any
other local or national agency. The services provided are funded by participant
fees, grant and scholarship funds, fundraising activities, and donations of
money, services and goods.
The fees charged by ADS cover a little less
than half of the cost to provide this service. The other portion of the cost
is subsidized by fund raising efforts.
| GRANTS | Periodically ADS will receive grants to enhance the physical environment or the therapeutic activity program. |
| SCHOLARSHIPS | Neither Medicaid nor Medicare will pay for adult day care in Tennessee. ADS recognizes that many families are unable to pay the remaining portion of the cost of care. Two funds are maintained to allow ADS to offer services to families who are unable to pay these fees. One fund is seeded through Aging Commission Of Mid-South and the "Elder Americans Act". The second fund comes from the proceeds of the Annual Jake Fondren Memorial Golf Tournament. Donations to these scholarship funds are always appreciated. |
| FUNDRAISING | Throughout the year, numerous events are scheduled to raise funds for the center. A fashion show, golf tournament, and bridge luncheon are just a few of these events. Caregivers will receive this information in the monthly "Carelines" or in the quarterly "Heartbeats" newsletters. |
| NOTECARDS | Depicting art works produced by participants during art therapy sessions are available. A box of assorted note cards may be received for a donation of $9.95. |
|
DONATIONS |
All monetary donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent provided by law. Memorials and honorariums are accepted. The gifts are acknowledged to the person being honored or to the family of the person to be memorialized and to the donor. |
| WISH LIST | A "Wish List" of items needed at ADS may be requested. Of course, gifts of paper towels, wet wipes, tissue, etc.., are always greatly appreciated. |
